Class: Butterflies in Colored Pencils. Image by Mary Christiansen.

Are you fascinated by butterflies? Learn about the life cycle, behavior, anatomy, and host plants of butterflies, moths, and other pollinating insects. We will work from both photographs and specimens to study the form, color, and details that will bring your butterfly to life. Through demonstrations, discover the colored pencil techniques that will enable you to capture the texture, intensity, and iridescence of these flying jewels.
