Drawing Birds' Wings and Feathers

Drawing Bird's Wings and Feathers
Class: Drawing Birds' Wings and Feathers. Image by Mary Christiansen.

From the coal black of crows to the vivid iridescence of hummingbirds, the plumage of birds is a challenging and inspiring subject. Gain accuracy by studying the anatomy and function of birds’ wings and feathers and master techniques for capturing a range of textures from soft down to stiff flight feathers. We will be working primarily in graphite, but for those with previous experience, the addition of colored pencil or watercolor will be optional.
