Drawing Owls in Graphite and Colored Pencils

Class: Drawing Owls in Graphite and Colored Pencil. Image by Mary Christiansen.

Are you fascinated by owls? Polish your drawing skills as you learn about owl anatomy, the form and function of plumage, and owl habitats and behavior. Graphite lends delicacy, depth, and fine detail to drawings and can be combined with colored pencil to effectively render this dramatic avian family. Learn to achieve realistic eyes, complex feather patterns, and textures that range from sharp beaks and talons to soft down.
