If you’re new to tree identification or need a refresher, this class is for you. You’ll learn the fundamental concepts used in dendrology, while being introduced to the garden's most common trees. The class will share some relevant botanical terminology, but will largely apply a jargon-free approach to learning one’s trees in a very straight forward manner. All of which are designed to help participants feel immediately more confident in their ability to identify regional trees. Looking forward, participants will also receive recommendations for resources and strategies to improve their own independent self-study. Due to their persistence as woody perennials, the awareness of trees is one of the best portals into creating a closer relationship with land and nature!
