Learn to prune like a professional during this intensive workshop. Learn the principles of proper pruning in the classroom and then get hands-on practice on an assortment of small trees and shrubs on BBG grounds. This class will go outdoors. Please bring lunch and hand pruners if you have them. Each participant will take home the BBG handbook Pruning Trees, Shrubs, and Vines.

This course is an elective for the Certificate in Horticulture and not required. It is open to all, including to those enrolled in the Certificate in Horticulture program. For more information, please visit the Certificate in Horticulture webpage.

Notes:This class meets on two days: Thursday, September 12 from 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 14 from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Please bring your registration confirmation and a photo ID to the security desk at the 1000 Washington Avenue entrance, and you will be directed to your classroom. In advance of class, show registration confirmation for free admission to the Garden. For drivers, the parking lot is located at 900 Washington Avenue. Allow 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the Education building.

Registration for Winter/Spring Continuing Education classes will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 4.

In order to receive a refund, you must cancel your enrollment at least five business days prior to the class start date. You will be charged a $15 cancellation fee. No Exceptions.
