Natural Dyes and Pigments

Class: Natural Dyes and Pigments. Photo by Alicia Martinson.

Learn how to create your own natural dyes and pigments from plants from your own backyard! In this hands-on workshop we will explore the process of making natural dyes and pigments and learn various dyeing and painting techniques. We will look at examples of plant-based pigments made throughout history and then create our own with a focus on regional plants. We will experiment with dyeing fabrics, yarn, paper, and more!

Feel free to bring any cotton items of your own that you would like to experiment dying.
